INDIEGOGO SUPPORT UPDATE
As you may, or may not know (in case you don’t follow me on Twitter www.twitter.com/jschiefer, Facebook, Google+, or Tumblr (the Tumblr blog is no longer being updated), we have wrapped production on ALGORITHM. We were able to get a spectacular group of people, both cast and crew, and some truly amazing locations.
But, that was September 24th.
Since then, I have returned home and completed an initial cut of ALGORITHM. I’ve been saying this for a while, but it bears repeating, we are going to deliver a movie way beyond the scope of what should be possible with our budget. ALGORITHM is around 115 minutes, without the credits. That’s a 2 hour epic hacker movie, with Hollywood level production values!
Of course, the rough cut I’ve got now is going to require a lot of fine-tuning. The edits need to be tightened up, the audio needs to be fixed, and all the screens and FX must be produced and inserted into the movie before I’m willing to show it to the world.
I’ve been talking with Joseph Matarrese, one of ALGORITHM’s producers, and we think we’ll be able to get it into one of the world’s top-tier festivals, which would be really good for everyone involved.
We’ve also got some very interesting plans for a public release, which we’re tentatively planning for July 14, 2014. That’s a soft date, so don’t mark your calendars. I give it to you now to let you know what we’ve been thinking.
ALGORITHM, my dream for the past 1.5 years would not have been possible without your support. As such, I would like permission to thank you as people who had the belief enough to support ALGORITHM when it was little more than a hope, by putting your name in the credits of the movie. We will also try to get these names on IMDB. Of course, I understand and fully support you if you’d rather remain anonymous, but it’s one of the only ways I can show you how grateful I am for your help.
So, if pre-ordered ALGORITHM, and if you’re open to being listed on the credits, let me know. This is an opt-in only thing. If I don’t hear back from you, I’ll assume you’re not interested. And, like I wrote above, you have until July 14, 2014 at the latest, probably earlier than that. Please try to get back to me as soon as possible by sending an email to the address below.
As always, thank you!
Jonathan [I've since rebranded to Jon because "Jonathan" is too hard to spell.] Schiefer
