I know. I know. “Day” changes at random. But, like I mentioned yesterday, there’s a good reason for that. The reason is, we had to push principal photography back so we could work on finding and getting access to the almost 40 locations. It’s not easy. I mean, it’s hard! But, we all believe in the dream of ALGORITHM and we think we can make it a reality. Compared to that, what’s a few more days?
Speaking of days, we figured out the shooting schedule this morning and this afternoon we began contacting actors and letting them know when they’re needed. So far, it’s almost 100% positive. Of course there are hiccups. But, I’m a glass-is-half-full kinda guy. Actually, I’m a glass-is-completely-full kinda guy. I just think the glass is half full of air and the other half is filled with whatever it is I’m pouring into it.
Now that that analogy has been strained into near non-existence, we can move on.
I love writing. I love being creative. I even kinda enjoy filling out an Excel sheet with shots I see in my head. I’m not a huge fan of the smaller logistics, but if I want to do the big stuff, the small stuff has to be done too. I wish I figured that out as a kid. It would have made my life much easer.
I didn’t get to be outside driving places, taking the real world and overlaying my fictitious world on top of it today. Instead, it was behind the computer, on the Google Doc we’re using to collaborate on all the specific. But, like I said, it’s a good thing… because it’s a necessary part of a good thing.
Tomorrow I get to chat with Satsuki, the DP, and try to convey the shot list I’m making.
We’re making ALGORITHM!
